Namibia’s vintage aircraft ready for Australian venture

The Namibian commercial Aviation aircraft which is the only surviving Douglas DC-6B aircraft will leave for Australia (on demand by Australia) after three months. Namibia Commercial Aviation has joined hands with Namibia Tourism Board to take full advantage of this lucrative opportunity and organize marketing programsfor Australians in the time in which the aircraft would fly to various cities of Australia. The reason for Australia demanding the Douglas DC-6B aircraft in its celebration of century of powered flights lies in the history of Australian passenger airline.David Gray of Australia's Yesteryear Aviation said Namibia to be a holy chalice for aviation history. He added that the total attendance for the two air shows is forecastedaround 500Â 000 people, and various international media houses.

Namibia Commercial Aviation's Hans Wiehahn said that they were really honored to receive the invitation. They are proud to get an opportunity where they can showcase not only their aircraft but also represent their country.
