From California’s Destination Races, LLC has expanded its influence to Oregon wine country where on 1st March was organized a wine auction charity event by Washington’s Walla Walla wine country.
Having planned the activities around the Labor Day weekend, the series’ fourth edition is supposed to be held on Sunday, September 5, 2010.
Beginning the 13.1 mile track fromStoller Vineyards and Winery in Dundee, runners would make their way through the bosom of the Willamette Valley and finally ending up at quaint town of Carlton with wine and music festival from 9 a.m. to noon wherein along with the feasting, award ceremony for the racers would also take place.
On 4th September, a race expo is organized at the Allison Inn in Newberg from 10a.m. to 6 p.m.which will also include the wine tasting ceremony. The event is expected to bring to light the serenity beauty of Oregon’s wine country, Matt Dockstader, founder of Destination Races, believes.
The event held on 1st day of March raised funds for charity including Friends of the Children, Metropolitan Family Service, New Avenues for Youth, Trillium Family Services and YWCA Clark County.
Heather Martin, executive director of the Classic Wines Auction, Inc. said that the money the raised through such events are utilized in supporting more than 42000 family and children who are really in need of them.
The Portland based, The Classic Wines Auction, Inc., has since its inception raised $21.6 million through the classic wine auction which has been used in benefitting the family and children.

The Namibian commercial Aviation aircraft which is the only surviving Douglas DC-6B aircraft will leave for Australia (on demand by Australia) after three months. The reason for Australia demanding the Douglas DC-6B aircraft in its celebration of century of powered flights lies in the history of Australian passenger airline.David Gray of Australia's Yesteryear Aviation said Namibia to be a holy chalice for aviation history. He added that the total attendance for the two air shows is forecastedaround 500Â 000 people, and various international media houses.

Namibia Commercial Aviation's Hans Wiehahn said that they were really honored to receive the invitation. They are proud to get an opportunity where they can showcase not only their aircraft but also represent their country.

The existence of the Bracknell Lions Club’s serving Bracknell for a period of more than 40 years is in danger as the membership has reduced to only six. The group is afraid that it may have to close down if more people did not come forward to support it.

Determined on his point,Chairman Mike Hendy, said that he will not let the group’s activity of charity events and serving the community close down, but he contradicted himself by saying that he won’t be able to do anything with so few members.

In the last few years, the strength of the club had been thirteen but gradually the number declined and these have not yet been replaced. Optimistic about the future activities, Mr. Hendy said that the average number of member in the club was 21 and he will try to recruit as many people as possible to the club in order to organize the big local events ass in the previous good days.

Following their motto “We Serve”, the group still continues with it’s one of the project called Message in a Bottle regardless their minimal strength. Visiting local elderly people and putting their medical details inside a bottle is main activity carried under this project which helps the elderly peoplein emergency.
Though they are unable to cater to all the requests but still they do the maximum they can with putting much burden on their remaining members.

Mr. Hendy is looking forward to rebuild the group and bring it to a point where they can organize events like Bracknell Carnival or the May Fayre like they have in Wokingham.
